Who we are
Early on I was interested in history and the Second World War and started to collect materials from that period.
During my study history the interest about this time was only strengthened. As a result of the Second World War came the period of decolonization and the Cold War. My interest shifted and was extended to these topics.
Now I am making surplus material from my collection available through this webshop.
After the end of the Second World War, the period of reconstruction began in Europe. The United States start the Marshall Aid, which the countries under the Russian sphere of influence could not use. This resulted in the Cold War and the Iron Curtain. That changed in the late 1980s and ended the period. This created a very interesting collection area for Warsaw Pact militaria and in this case DDR attributes.
DDR militaria are a very interesting collection area because it is possible to get a full overview of the former communist country. Not only for the military side but also for workers’ groups, police, youth organizations and intelligence services. Furthermore, the GDR army (NVA Nationale Volksarmee) continued to build on the military traditions before that. This is reflected in the uniforms and emblems. Over the years, changes have also been made in this, so that interesting development can be seen and a very special collection area has been created.
The latest developments are from 1987, so 2 years before the fall of the Berlin Wall. At the moment it is possible to find many items for reasonable investments although it can be seen that the first replicas already appear.
I would like to offer, together with a some friends, the possibility to collect items from this closed period from European history, through our webshop.
Let’s hope that time never comes back, but cherish the memories in order to never forget
